Installing the Gardens

Gulfside Landscaping is busy installing plants throughout the Tanglewood property in the form of carefully designed and placed gardens of roses, camellias, cypresses, herbs, and vegetables. Enjoy these photographs that show the design coming together.

The recently installed 14 ft. mature Italian cypress and 6 ft. podocarpus add a masculine element to the landscape.

A mature podocarpus screen was installed two days ago in the Irving Berlin Garden. This screen will remove the visual impact of AC units and mechanical equipment around the home, and it will help guide guests on a walk through the lush gardens.

Here the ground is being prepared for an organic garden, which will be filled with vegetables, seasonal fruit trees, and herbs for cooking and mixed drinks.

This is the beginning of the Marilyn Levin Camellia Preservation Garden.

The marble angels will be placed at different focal points in the Preservation Garden to welcome guests.

The cut stone cobbles will be a part of a 10 ft. radius at the entrance to the camellia garden.

Tanglewood Gardens

The gardens at Tanglewood include a number of plant types that were selected for their variety in color, shape, texture, and blooming season. The foliage throughout the property works to showcase the rose and camellia plants–the heart of the gardens.

Defining the Space

To define the backyard space at Tanglewood, we designed a multi-tiered surface with a brick vintage-wall system. The different levels of elevation add variety and interest to the property. A series of circular patios with pavers laid in a radial pattern lead down to the water.

A Blank Slate

Work continues at Tanglewood Legacy Estate. Preexisting vegetation has been removed and the ground has been stabilized to prevent erosion. We have a clean slate to begin adding new plants, pavers, and other design features. Work will progress quickly over the next few months, so check back to see new developments at Tanglewood.
